Vettel WDC Abu Dhabi 2010 Aftermath

This is another personal project of mine on which I worked in my spare time and I had it done at the stage that it is now, as shown below in the photos, for some time now..

The whole 3D scene has been done in Autodesk Maya as shown in the first two pictures below, then imported into Unreal Engine where the rest of the work has been done.

Long long time ago I did the World Drivers Championship trophy, then I had created a helmet (which also can be seen in past posts) and I had created the RB07 or how the Red Bull 2010 F1 car is named, so I thought then of why not recreating the whole garage in all the festive atmosphere once Sebastian Vettel clinched the title in Abu Dhabi GP 2010, in it’s aftermath? So I had the idea for this scene for a while now, but being quite limited with time and working on other projects it meant that I would work on it from time to time, so I would come back to this piece and update it bit by bit and have some fun. What begun with a simple garage, extended to the pit-lane, then the teams grid posts, then the race track, and the grandstands that are opposite of the pit-lane (some of those details are not yet finished and are somewhat visible from renderings taken from the rear). And I still have other ideas that I wanted to implement and hopefully will very soon, for example rigged and animate character sitting on the ground besides his car holding his head in disbelief. That is how I imagine it at least. Also in the background I implemented a TV broadcasting the final moments of the Grand Prix with audio reacting directly with the environment, where if you go further away, it will lower, or increase if you come closer. There are lot’s of elements on which I am proud of in this scene and I hope you will enjoy the 3D work below as much as I did while creating it. Also there are some videos at the end as well of the work in timelapse.

The tools used and stuff in this project: Autodesk Maya, Substance Painter, UV Headus Layout, Photoshop, Unreal Engine 5.1, cable plugins, UE Epic Quixel assets, UE TV blueprints
